Striking Work Life Balance (WLB)

The total life space can be divided into two segments as professional life and personal as well as social life. There needs to be a balance between both in order to avoid stress and lead to a meaningful life. Those who create an imbalance by bringing home to office and taking office to home remain unhappy and less productive. The onus for striking balance between work and life lies on the shoulders of both the employer as well as the employee. Poor work life balance causes to stress resulting into poor performance and low productivity.Work life balance (WLB) is striking balance between work and non-work schedules. Balance means equilibrium. The term balance can be signified by establishing levelness between two equally demanding things. WLB warrants for achievement as well as enjoyment, achievement through work and enjoyment through life. Work and life are two sides of a coin. They are interwoven in nature and overlap. An emotionally intelligent employee very well knows how to strike balance between work and life. Still lot of support is needed from the top management/employers.
